PastryBase is a woman-owned small business located in Richmond, VA, founded by Pastry Chef Jill Donaldson. We create all-natural, vegan and gluten-free Baking Mixes & Baking Kits which contain our mixes, unique pastry tools, and natural decorations such as sprinkles dyed with vegetable colorants and organic fondant; essentially, everything you need to bake a fun seasonal dessert in a box! Jill's passion for baking began with her grandmother Lilly, and after years in the food industry, she aimed to make baking accessible for everyone, regardless of skill level or dietary restrictions. |

Our first sauce - Don't Touch the Baby - was born out of a lifelong love for all things spicy and passion for growing super-hot peppers. It all started in our backyard garden, right after our son was born. Weekends transformed the house into a hot sauce laboratory complete with a mad scientist concocting (and consuming) recipe after scorching recipe until we finally got it just right. Since cooking with some of the world's hottest peppers is almost literally playing with fire, 'Don't Touch the Baby!' was a common refrain in our house. When the time finally came to give our first tried and true recipe a name, the subtle warning stuck. Since then, we've released our Reaper Ranch Seasoning and 3 more unique sauces: Baby Daddy, One Bad Mother and Granny's Myth. Starting to see a pattern here? Grandpa might be next. |
