IntentaVida’s journey started with the couple Lida and Johan. We were living in Colombia and working as farmers. Colombia, with its diverse climate and rich soils, provides an ideal environment for growing a wide variety of foods. Our passion for cultivating—from luscious mangoes to exotic soursops—was driven by our love for the land and the bounties it could produce. Throughout our experience, we realized that the farmer’s hard work had not been recognized, and the farmer’s importance to society and our agricultural roots had been forgotten. In a world where our lives rely on technology and futuristic products, sometimes we forget our roots. We fail to connect with nature and understand the importance that a farmer has to a functional society. By recognizing this gap, we wanted to make a positive impact on the farming industry. I started the company in Jan 2015 selling tea on a laundry cart in the streets of Phoenix and to this day I am still the 100% owner of the company and all of our products are proudly hand-made in the Phoenix, AZ. It wasn’t easy building this dream without outside investors and it is quite the challenge getting through it especially with COVID-19. Although we’ve had to close down our shops and pivot quite a bit to adjust to the times, we’re grateful to be here another day to serve you.
